Basketball

Town & Country School

We will be having a basketball program this year, but it will look a little different this year. There is increased risk of spreading COVID-19 while playing close-contact or indoor sports. The Delta Variant is even more contagious than the original strain. There is not any way to make sure our students do not contract Covid. However, each action we take helps to mitigate the spread of the virus.  We discussed many options, took into consideration guidelines from the CDC and the Tulsa County Health Department, and came up with this plan for the season:

  • All team members must be vaccinated. The only exceptions will be religious and medical exemptions who must fill out required paperwork.
  • We will practice in the gym twice a week starting the first week of November mask free, but players will need to excuse themselves if they have any symptoms of illness.
  • We will playing intrateam scrimmage games ONLY (1-2 game nights a month November-February) as we cannot control the Covid guidelines for the other teams.
  • 2022 Seniors will be allowed to play again next year—hopefully against other teams.
  • The scrimmage games will be like the ones in the past with real referees and spectators.  All spectators will be required to wear masks.
  • If your son or daughter would like to play this season under these guidelines please let Coach Odor (boys) or Coach Cross (girls) know through email.
  • If you choose to sit out this season, it will NOT hurt your ability to play T&C Knights basketball in the future.
