The Town and Country Upper School PTL would like to welcome all new and returning students and their families back to school!  We are looking forward to another great year and getting to know all of the new families.

The PTL is a league of parents and teachers at Town and Country School.   As Town and Country parents, we are here because we have children who learn differently.  The PTL's goal is to foster a nurturing and caring environment that strives for continued parent involvement in helping build a better educational setting for our kids.  We also promote a community where the teachers and administration can do their best work with the resources we can help provide.  Through our membership and fundraising efforts, the PTL provides educational materials and equipment for the school, as well as improvements to the facility.  We sponsor field trips, outside educational programs, and other fun opportunities that come up during the year.

We encourage you to support the US PTL by attending meetings and becoming involved.  Parents are required to volunteer a minimum of 10 hours a year.  You will be responsible for keeping track of those hours and turning them in to Tonya Stone (tstone@tandcschool.org).  Attending the PTL meetings, baking cookies or brownies, or helping during an event are great ways to meet this requirement and get to know the other parents and school staffIf you sign up to be a chair for an event, your volunteer hours are waived

Volunteer opportunities will be sent out via the Sign Up Genius website as activities present themselves. If you aren’t available for one activity others will come. Thank you for helping to make a difference!

PTL Activities and Descriptions

Remember all chair people get hours waived for the year-even if it wasn’t 10 hours of service!!!

PTL Meetings:  Parents and Guardians are encouraged to attend our PTL meetings.  They are scheduled on Tuesdays, once in the fall and once in the spring. Lunch is provided by the PTL.  Please RSVP to receive lunch.  There is a speaker relevant to our children in addition to the PTL agenda.  Parents attending the PTL meetings will receive 1 hour of volunteer time per parent or family member attending.  Therefore, both parents attending the meeting receive 2 hours of credit. Event needs parents to attend.

Fast Food Friday:  This is a fundraiser is OPTIONAL.  Students may purchase a pizza lunch (set for 12 designated Fridays throughout the school year).  Students may choose a 2-slice pizza lunch for $72 for the whole year.  A 3-slice pizza lunch for $77 for the school year. A Gluten Free option for $108 for the school year.  The pizza will be delivered by Mazzio's, and a drink & dessert will be provided.   

Fiery Trails Hayride and Cookout:  This is an event for the whole family of Upper School Students.  This activity is planned for Oct 9 at Fiery Trails, located near Discovery Land in Sand Springs. Event needs food contributionsEvent needs 2 chair people.  Hours are waived for chairing this event.

Winter and Spring Dances:  These are dances for middle and high school students.  Dances will be located in the gym at T&C.  Event needs a chairperson for each dance.  Hours are waived for chairperson.  Event needs helpers to set up, tear down and provide snacks.

Holiday Teacher Luncheon:  Holiday luncheon for teachers and staff.  Parents work with Chairperson to coordinate luncheon. *Need people to bring food

Prom Committee:  Committee is made up of 9-12 grade parents only.  Responsible for organizing the prom.  This committee will work closely with Ms. Etier.

Bingo/Dessert Auction: Fun night of Bingo and homemade desserts! Cash prizes for adult and child winners.  *Need amazing bakers for this event.  Remember these are family hours so Aunt Bettie can bake and count as your hours.

Fall Scholastic Book fair: Upper and Lower School fundraiser held during the Fall. This is a terrific way to buy great books for your kids and help support the school, including the library and classrooms.   Volunteer opportunities include helping to set up, working different shifts during fair hours which will be 7:45-12:30 and 2:45-4:30.  Take down will by on Friday after the fair closes

Jog-a-thon: It will be held in the afternoon on a day in April.   Donation forms will be sent home in advance.  There will be prizes for most money raised, most laps run.  Students will get to participate, with or without donations.   Come cheer on your student as they run laps for the school or if you are feeling energetic you can jog along with them.  Volunteers are needed help set up and to mark laps on the day of the event.

Teacher Appreciation Week:  A special week that we honor our teachers, assistants, and staff for the outstanding job they do all year.  Parents work with the Hospitality chairperson during the week to organize luncheon. Teacher Appreciation Luncheon is May 3rd. *Need volunteers to bake/cook/buy food for our teachers.

Senior Luncheon monitor classrooms:  Helpers needed to monitor classrooms from 11:30-1pm while teachers and staff can attend the Senior Luncheon.  All other students will eat lunch in the classrooms that day.

Field Day:  Is the last day of school from 8am-11am.  We need helpers to assist in Field Day activities provided by Mrs. Meyer, our PE teacher.

****There are many opportunities to serve at Town & Country School.  You can help driving for field trips, help at sporting events, teachers need assistance at times, Mrs. Keller needs yard work completed or painting done.  If you are unable to attend or help with any of these mentioned activities, please see Ms. Etier or Mrs. Keller for ideas of things you can do to achieve your 10 hours of required service.
