Town & Country School , a 501(c)(3) organization, was established in 1961 as a Kindergarten through eighth grade program by child psychologist, Dr. Lillian Whitmore and a group of parents of children with learning disabilities.
Forty-six years later, T&C continues to be Oklahomas only accredited,
non-public, full day K-12 program specifically designed to meet the needs of this special population. The school is located on a 10-acre, wooded lot that houses the entire campus complete with administrative buildings, a large gymnasium, playground equipment, and separate buildings for both Upper and Lower School.

In 1984, Town & Country broadened the scope of its program and began serving both students with Learning Disabilities as well as those diagnosed with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. In 1986, a supplemental after-school program was established to provide tutoring and speech/language therapy. These programs are available to all Tulsa area students, both public and private, who struggle with learning.
Town & Country became a Kindergarten through 12th grade program in 1999 and graduated its first class in May 2000. Students are placed in classrooms with one teacher and one assistant and a maximum of 12 students per class. Total enrollment averages 125 students.
The benefits the Tulsa community receives from this unique program go far beyond the walls of the school campus. Any student in the Tulsa community with a learning disability/ADHD may contract with T&C staff to provide tutorial services and speech/language therapy. Parents, educators, physicians, psychologists, therapists, and other professionals who are concerned with the needs of this population look to Town & Country as a valuable resource for information,
training and support.
